New York SunWorks Youth Conference

May 8, 2025
I had so much fun talking to students at the the New York Sunworks Youth Conference about careers in CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture) on behalf of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Art Technically.

NY Sunworks is on a mission to build state-of-the-art Hydroponic Classrooms, teach the science of sustainability and climate change, and transform learning in K-12 city schools. Their Youth Conference brought high school students from across New York City to hear from CEA speakers and participate in a career fair. We hosted a booth at the career fair where students got to test out a Chlorophyll Content Meter on a corn plant from RPI’s LESA plant lab, watch a color science demonstration answering the question “Why are Plants Green?”, check out Art Technically’s Astrobotany & CEA Resources, and learn about careers in CEA and technology.
