Happy birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Today is Read Across America Day, or Dr. Seuss Day, so students across the U.S. are reading, learning about literacy, and re-energizing their love of books! I had the wonderful opportunity to read to elementary school students at Tipton Rosemark Academy in Tipton County. I read to 4-6 year olds in English and Spanish about character education and imagination.

For those of you yet to celebrate this special literacy holiday, there’s still time! If you have children (or younger siblings/family members), you can take time today to read to them and share with them the importance of literacy and life-long learning in honor of the legendary Dr. Seuss.

If you don’t have a child to read to, or if you just want another way to celebrate, you can collect and donate books or money to buy books for Ready, Set, Read! For more info, you can message Grace Burgess on Facebook.
